New project “Dave Pell - Havin’ Fun”, a biography of the fabulous musical life of legendary saxophone player, Dave Pell.

“Havin’ Fun” will encompass all of Dave’s life from birth in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, New York, through the Big Band era where he was an acclaimed sideman with some of the great bands of the century, to his Octet that literally changed the face of West Coast jazz, and on to his days as one of the top record producers in the country.

Dave has never stopped havin’ fun, and now in his eighties he still plays at Jazz festivals across the country. His recordings are still a hot number with Jazz fans around the globe.

The book will contain pictures from each era of Dave’s magnificent career and possibly a CD of Dave’s greatest hits could accompany each book.

After over 40 years in the entertainment industry in both movies/television and the music business this project has me excited for several reasons. First of all, I am a fan of Dave Pell’s. Not only a fan but a close friend over the years. Nothing I have done would give me more pleasure than the completion of the story of the incredible life of Dave Pell.
